Mixed Premier Division – Round 10
30/10/19
7pm, 9:40pm

With Parkville Panthers still sitting undefeated at the top of the ladder the steadily improving DDNA will look to push hard this round after going down by 41 goals back in Round 1, while Geelong Cougars were pushed all the way by Pasifika Sharks last time they met, outrunning the Sharks in a high scoring affair to start the season strong. St Therese still sit winless but put in a solid contest last time they met Melbourne City Blackhawks, so will look to put out another four quarter effort this round. Meanwhile, Valley Wolves have their second bye of the season.

NNE Vipers take on Eastside Sonics in what will be an interesting contest given the Vipers have had an impressive few weeks on the court. Vipers have arguably had a better past few rounds with two wins prior to their bye last week, while also keeping close margins for the four matches prior. For the Sonics, this will be a real test given their last win was back in Round 4, though they do also have the bragging rights over the Vipers. Last time they met saw the Sonics prevail with a 14-goal victory, and while both sides have shown plenty of improvement the Sonics have a higher percentage yet are sitting on the same win-loss ratio as the Vipers, meaning both sides realistically could get the job done in this contest. Sonics’ Samara Harris will be the player to beat in this contest with speed and endurance to boot through the midcourt, while the likes of Jesse Failla and Jack Carpenter provide key options through attack, in and around the circle. The battle between Sonics’ Caity DeGaris and Vipers’ Bridget Ryan will be an interesting one with both players able to have a massive impact. Also solid for Vipers are Jess Lallo and Michael Dower, who both have the ability to hit the scoreboard and provide a massive target in attack.
