2020 WTA Roland Garros fantasy tennis: Svitolina and Suarez Navarro set to do battle for grand slam victory

A MASSIVE two weeks of Roland Garros fantasy tennis has culminated in an intense day of semi-finals action, seeing Elina Svitolina and Carla Suarez Navarro set up impressive wins to head into the final tomorrow.

Suarez Navarro may be the underdog of the tournament but has not once appeared that way, with the unseeded Spaniard disposing of impressive young talent Iga Swiatek in straight sets, 7-6 6-4. While Swiatek kept the match neck-and-neck early on, she could not compete with the experience of Suarez Navarro who got out to a dashing start in the second set to overcome the young Pole.

In the second match of the day, Svitolina survived yet another scare against Dutch 13th seed Kiki Bertens. Taken to her fourth three-setter in almost as many days, Svitolina once again proved she is more than capable of taking out this title with this 6-4 6-7 6-1 win in hand. Despite having to fight off a hungry Bertens in the second before conceding victory in the tiebreaker, Svitolina bounced back well to run away with victory for her first Grand Slam final appearance.

The final is set to be a cracker, with both Svitolina and Suarez Navarro proving time and time again that they are no easy-beats and can compete with anyone on their day, making for a massive Roland Garros fantasy tennis final.
