ATP & WTA Tour Scores: February 2, 2022

FINDING all the ATP and WTA Tour scores in one place can be difficult, so Rookie Me Central has you covered. Here are all the main draw results from the tennis tournaments heading into February 3.

ATP TOUR

OPEN SUD DE FRANCE:

Montpellier, France | ATP 250 | Hard

All three seeds in action managed to book their final eight spots with victories in the second round at Montpellier. Second seed Roberto Bautista Agut entered the tournament and won via retirement from French qualifier Gilles Simon, in what ended up being a bad day for the home nation. Fifth seed Filip Krajinovic and sixth seed Alexander Bublik also booked their spots in the quarter finals, at the expense of French pair, Jo-Wilried Tsonga and Pierre-Hugues Herbert. Seventh seed Ugo Humbert again fell victim to compatriot Richard Gasquet making it two consecutive losses after his first round defeat at the Australian Open, whilst Adrian Mannarino and Mackenzie McDonald both advanced through to the Round of 16.

Mackenzie McDonald (USA) defeated Ilya Ivashka (BLR) 6-3 7-6

CORDOBA OPEN:

Cordoba, Argentina | ATP 250 | Clay

Top seed Diego Schwartzman began his clay campaign with a win over compatriot qualifier Juan Pablo Ficovich in what a strong first-up performance for the tournament favourite. Fellow Argentinian Juan Ignacio Londero also made it through to the quarter finals following a tight tussle with eighth seed Pedro Martinez, whilst Colombian lucky loser Daniel Elahi Galan had a terrific win over the highly fancied Jaume Munar. It was not a great start for the other Argentinian on court in the late game, Tomas Etcheverry, having dropped the first set to Serbian lucky loser Nikola Milojevic, 6-3 at the time of publishing.

TATA OPEN MAHARASHTRA:

Pune, India | ATP 250 | Clay

It was a mixed bag in Pune for the Italian seeds, with young gun Lorenzo Musetti surviving his second round match – first of the tournament – defeating Australian Aleksandar Vukic in three sets. Musetti scored his first victory of the year in the process. Though the news was not as good for third seed Gianluca Mager who fell to Portugal’s Joao Sousa in three sets. Fifth seed German took care of in-form Romanian Radu Albot in a come-from behind win to reach the quarter finals, with Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak also through following a win over Quentin Halys.

WTA TOUR
