Second Chance Saloon looks at the overage players in the TAC Cup that for one reason or another, missed out on being drafted last year. They return to their clubs as a 19 year-old in an attempt to get drafted. Last year the likes of Callum Moore and Tom Phillips made their way onto AFL lists with strong performances as an overager.

Prodigal Son takes you through some familiar surnames as your club weighs up whether to draft a household name. With the likes of Waterman, Daicos, Brown, Romero and Maxfield running around, there are plenty of supporter bases that could look forward to the year ahead in the under 18s.

Academy Watch focuses on those in the AIS Academy and how they’re tracking. The academy is usually the brightest hopes picked out prior to the season, often two seasons before. In this weekly piece, we will investigate which ones are living up to the hype, and which ones are not.

In the modern football world where players are often considered commodities, Stock Market looks at the newest draft crop as an exchange market, where stock trades places. Some will go up, others will go down. Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver is a perfect example of how someone who was nowhere near draft calculations at the start of the year, finished top five in the National Draft.

Writer Matt Balmer will provide regular updates with Power Rankings to give you the best draft prospect tracker on the web. He’ll rank all the talented under 18s and will put his neck out sorting the top ones from those making up the numbers.
