SANFL Round 3 draft prospects update
With round three of the SANFL Competition continuing over the weekend, 2017 South Australian draft talent was on show at League, Reserves and U18 Level. We take a look at who the top performers were across the grades.
League:
Alex Martini (Glenelg) again made another solid contribution backing up his 17 disposal game from last week, with 18 disposals at 89 per cent efficiency against South Adelaide. Mitch Crowden spent most of the game up forward, finding less of the ball. However his five tackles were superb, with three resulting in holding the ball deicisons.
Reserves:?
Norwood young guns Lachie Pascoe (Norwood) and Stefan Giro (Norwood) found plenty of the ball and were very good. The pair were named in the bests, with 28 disposals and five tackles at good efficiency. Isaac Hewson was also another who played a good game with 26 disposals and six tackles against West Adelaide.
In his first game for the Eagles, Andrew McPherson accumulated 27 disposals on ANZAC Day in an impressive showing, while teammate Isaac Moller was called up from the Under 18s to chip in with two goals from his seven marks and 11 disposals. Callum Coleman-Jones was named second best in Sturt’s loss to the Eagles in a lively performance up forward kicking 2.4 with his 14 disposals.
Brad McCarthy (Glenelg) also played a role with 13 disposals, seven tackles and a goal.
U18s:
Woodville-West Torrens midfielder James Rowe continued his outstanding start to 2017 – with 32 disposals and two goals in the Eagles’ victory over North Adelaide. Rowe’s performance earned him the nomination for the Under 18 MVP.
