Team Selection: VFLW – Round 5
WITH many TAC Cup Girls players ramping up preparations for the National Under 18 Championships, it means that many have taken to the sidelines in round five. This leaves it up to the AFLW and Victorian Football League (VFL) Women’s talent to step it up and earn a win for their side. This round sees two top four sides go head-to-head at Box Hill while an historic Dream time clash will headline the weekend.
HAWTHORN v. COLLINGWOOD
Round 5 – 02/06/2018 11:30AM
Box Hill City Oval
To kick off round five, two undefeated sides in Hawthorn and Collingwood will go head-to-head at Box Hill City Oval. Hawthorn will take to the field with an unchanged side following its bye last week, trusting previous form to continue their winning streak. On the other hand, Collingwood have made a few changes to make sure it put its best foot forward against the Hawks. The inclusion of Magpies best and fairest, Chloe Molloy is sure to bring some class to the side in her first game for the club. The Pies will also welcome back Sarah D’Arcy and Erica Fowler in place of Oakleigh Chargers pair, Hannah McLaren and Daisy Bateman. AFLW vice-captain, Brittany Bonnici will also take to the sidelines. Ally Bild will come in as the 23rd player, and former Oakleigh player, Sarah Cameron has also been named to make her debut in the black and white this weekend after impressing at training.

Carlton and Darebin will meet at Ikon Park this Saturday. The Blues have made seven changes ahead of their clash naming some major outs, including the likes of AFLW players, Darcy Vescio, Lauren Brazzale, Reni Hicks and Lauren Arnell. In their place is Kathleen Roe, Rachel Hibbert and Greater Western Sydney (GWS) AFLW talent, Jessica Dal Pos, who comes in for her first VFLW game this season.

She will be joined by GWS star, Louise Stephenson and new North Melbourne recruit, Emma King. Courtney Musico, Alice Edmonds and Bethany Lynch will also don the yellow and black in the Dreamtime clash. Murray Bushrangers defender, Grace Egan has been named as the 23rd player. Essendon will be hoping for its first win of the season against the Tigers this weekend, making two team changes.
