- Melbourne boot 5.4 to 0.0 in the third term to come from 20 points down at half-time to lead by 14 points at the final break, only for the Dockers to boot the last three goals of the game to celebrate their first interstate win.
- Eden Zanker and Tegan Cunningham look to be an ominous key forward duo, while Ashley Sharp and Sabreena Duffy looked dangerous up forward.
- Kiara Bowers has a round-high 12 tackles on debut, also collecting 13 disposals and two marks and the match-winning goal.
- Both GIANTS and Lions struggled to take charge of the game, with both sides only managing to get seven points ahead in the tight contest.
- Jess Wuetschner starred kicking three goals, while Emily Bates and Alexandra Anderson finished with 21 disposals apiece.
- Cora Staunton and Emma Swanson were dominant for the visitors, collecting a combined 30 disposals and five marks in the tough slog, while debutant Alyce Parker also had 18 touches.
