AFTER the 2023 Round 1 fixtures for both the VFLM and VFLW were released earlier this week, the AFL has now dropped the full fixture for both competitions.
The full 14 round VFLW fixture has dropped, while 14 of the 22 rounds for the VFLM have been revealed, with the final eight rounds set to come later.
Both competitions will kick off on the final weekend in March (March 24 to 26).
Many features of the VFLW season will remain largely the same as they were in 2022.
There will be 14 rounds, with a four-week finals series contested by the top six to follow.
Some of the key dates of the 2023 VFLW season include:
- A Grand Final rematch between Essendon and the Southern Saints in Rounds 2 and 7
- A full round across the Easter weekend, including three matches on Good Friday
- Port Melbourne and Box Hill will battle it out under the Friday night lights on April 21
- Box Hill and Casey will meet in Wonthaggi in Round 6

Although the full VFLM fixture has not been released yet, the first 14 rounds have so fans can still plan much of the season.
A new addition to the VFLM this season though is a Wildcard Round, which will take place after Round 22.
It will work in much the same way it did in the 2022 NAB League Boys season, where seventh on the ladder will play 10th, and ninth will play eighth, with the two winners progressing to the finals. The top six will earn a pre-finals bye that weekend.
Some of the other key dates of the 2023 VFLM fixture include:
- A Grand Final rematch between Casey and Southport in Round 11
- Two matches on Good Friday
- Box Hill and Casey will meet in Wonthaggi in Round 6
- Round 8 will see the 158th edition of the Battle of Bell St between Coburg and the Northern Bullants
