Coates Talent League prospects set for preseason testing

COATES Talent League prospects are set to be put through their paces on Saturday, as all 12 Victorian regions convene for their annual preseason testing event. Under the guidance of Rookie Me, athletes will participate in three vertical jump tests, a 20m sprint, agility test, and yo-yo test.

Clubs will each bring up to 35 players to partake in the day-long event at the Maribyrnong Sports Academy, which looms as a chance for all youngsters to showcase the hard work they have undergone during preseason.

The day also presents an opportunity for AFL club recruiters to meet and watch the prospects they will closely analyse throughout this year and beyond. Rookie Me Central will chat to over 60 players from across the regions, too, with plenty of content to follow.

Prospects such as consensus top AFL Draft talent Harley Reid will be in attendance, along with Nick Watson, Zane Duursma and a host of other AFL Academy athletes. Of them, Northern Knights forward Nate Caddy will not participate as he recovers from a fractured fibula.

The boys’ testing day comes after each girls squad was put to the test on Saturday March 11, at Narrandjeri Stadium in Thornbury. Players from other states have also undergone identical tests ahead of their respective seasons.

>> RESULTS: Giants Academy | Lions Academy | Suns Academy | Swans Academy | South Australia | Tasmania | Coates Talent League Girls
