FORM:

Murray Bushrangers are yet to trouble the win column for season 2024, but have not been too far away. They continue to be competitive, and have draftable prospects not just this year, but the following two years as well. The key is doing it for four quarters, which is something they will need to do against the Rebels, who snapped a two-game losing streak – of 40-plus point losses – by beating Bendigo Pioneers in Round 10 prior to the bye in Round 11.

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Murray Bushrangers:

The Bushrangers have got plenty out of their 2008-born talents this season, with the versatile Rose Bell and Majella Day already in their second seasons at the club. The inclusion of Vic Country Under 16s talent Sophia Green and rebounding defender Constance Dodd has helped provide more depth around the ground, while the top-agers of Holly Egan and Madison Ibrahim deservedly landed Vic Country spots.

GWV Rebels:

As the season has progressed, the Rebels have been able to throw the magnets around, with Claire Mahony spending more time up the field and even in defence to use her aerial prowess and elite field kicking to advantage. She will be a key player, as will Millie Lang who has spent time in midfield as well as defence.

A great inclusion will be midfielder Brook Ward who returns from a year out of the game, and showed signs as a promising potential draft prospect. Elise Cook and Olivia Wolter were the other two Vic Country inclusions for the Rebels.

PREDICTION

Given the Bushrangers will be minus Ellie Hall and Tamika Rourke, they are a couple short, so the favouritism and of course form goes to the Rebels. If Murray can get a flurry of goals and maintain the pressure for four quarters, then it is a huge chance, while the Rebels have the talent to get it done and have claimed a few scalps this season in hard-fought contest.
