Freedom and Banshees win big, set up epic decider

OVERNIGHT it was semi final day at the Transatlantic Cup, which saw two very different results in the two semi finals.

Colombia pick up consolation win

In the fifth versus sixth consolation match, Colombia picked up its second win over France this tournament, this time beating the French by 10 points.

France did kick its first goal of the tournament, but it was not enough as two first half goals to the Jaguares proved enough to see Colombia get the win.

Colombia’s goals came via Karol Echeverry and Laura Diaz, while Clotilde Decaux was the history maker for France, scoring its first ever goal at the 18 per side international level.

Banshees haunt Swans to move through to the decider

Ireland continued to prove why it is the one to beat this tournament, easily taking care of its neighbours Great Britain to move through to the Grand Final.

The Banshees led the whole way, and the margin was already almost three goals at the final change but the Irish accelerated again in the final term to really stretch out the margin.

Shannon Stevenson and Shauna Kendrick continued to be pivotal targets in front of goal for the Irish, with the former kicking three goals and the latter kicking two. Meanwhile Kate Franklin and Katie Murdoch were the two goal kickers for Great Britain.

History making Freedom deny Canada GF rematch

The United States have made some history for themselves, winning through to their first international tournament Grand Final after beating its northern neighbour Canada by the barest of margins and denying Canada a chance to revenge the 2017 International Cup decider.

The Northern Lights got the better of the starts, but slowly but surely the Freedom came back at them and after keeping them scoreless in the final term, ultimately emerged victorious.

Jerri Allen was the sole goal kicker for the United States, while Aimee Legault and Mabel Dunn were the two goal kickers for Canada.
