NEW FACES
Hawthorn have five new faces this afternoon. Former Dees Casey Sherriff and Eliza West will line up alongside draftees Laura Stone, Mikayla Williamson and Jess Vukic.
Carlton meanwhile only have the three new faces – Lulu Beatty, who missed last season due to injury, draftee Lila Keck and former Bulldog Celine Moody.
LAST TIME THESE SIDES MET
These sides have never actually met before, so history will be made this afternoon.
KEY MATCH UP
Breann Moody provides a focal point in attack for Carlton, and so to beat them you need to make sure she cannot provide a marking target. Luckily for Hawthorn they have Jenna Richardson, who is the kind of defender who is good at stopping those taller marking targets.

NEW FACES
Both of these sides only have a single club debutant today.
After crossing from West Coast in the offseason Shanae Davison will run out for Brisbane for the first time today, while former Dee Libby Birch will play her first game as a Roo today.
LAST TIME THESE SIDES MET
The last time these sides met was literally the last match either played.
On Grand Final day last year, it was a hard-fought clash that ultimately was not decided until the final quarter where Brisbane kicked four goals to none.
KEY MATCH UP
In both matches these sides played each other last year, Breanna Koenen tagging Jasmine Garner out of the match really made a difference to the result, so it will be interesting to see if Brisbane go with the same strategy today.
