Recent form
Port Adelaide has been humming along really well this season, with all the parts of the side finally clicking, and the Power will be looking to make an impact in their first finals campaign.
Richmond meanwhile finished just half a game behind the Power, but have had an up and down end to the season, and will be hoping a far from convincing final month of the home and away season does not extend into finals.
Last time they met
These two sides met earlier this season – in the middle of the chaos of the condensed fixture – and that night Richmond emerged victorious but the Tigers did not have it all their own way. They took a while to get their first goal on the board, but when they did it really got them going and the momentum swung their way. However both sides were rather inaccurate that night, which they will be hoping to avoid repeating today.
Key stat areas
Port prefers to kick the ball way more than handball it, while for Richmond it is the complete opposite. When it comes to the clearances, with both of these sides doing equally as well in centre clearances, the real difference is in the stoppage clearances, which Port has been doing significantly better than Richmond in this season. This is extra interesting because Richmond has been doing better than the Power in the hit outs.
Key match up/s
It is really going to be the battle of the key forwards today. When these forwards are up and about and playing seamlessly together it gives their respective sides such a boost, so plenty of pressure will be on the shoulders of the likes of Ashleigh Saint, Gemma Houghton, Katie Brennan and Caitlin Greiser today.
