Recent form
Adelaide finds itself in today’s clash after again failing short against North Melbourne last week for the second time in three weeks. Fremantle meanwhile is on a four-match winning streak at the moment and comes into today’s clash off a 10-point win over Essendon last week.
Last time they met
As two original clubs of the competition, there is certainly plenty of history between these sides. Last time these two sides met was earlier this season, back in round 2 specifically. That particular evening, Adelaide was far too strong for the Dockers, because although the Crows were inaccurate they still restricted the Dockers to a goalless game and came away with a 33-point win.
Key stat areas
Interestingly, Fremantle has been getting more of the ball than the Crows have this year, but Adelaide has been more efficient with it. When it comes to clearances, there is nothing to split these sides when it comes to centre clearances, so Fremantle’s much better figures in stoppage clearance could be a potential asset for it today.
Key match up/s
After being a late out last week, Ash Brazill is a crucial return to the Dockers’ line-up today. With the strength of the likes of Caitlin Gould in Adelaide’s forwardline, Brazil may not have the height to match it with Gould, but does have the physical strength and smarts to be able to.
It also frees up someone like Gabby O’Sullivan, who has been named off the half back, to use her run and carry more like a winger to generate more for her side.
