How they got here

After a hard fought win over Hawthorn in week one, Brisbane come into today’s clash fresh off a week’s break. Adelaide meanwhile had to go the long way, but have made yet another AFLW Preliminary Final after beating Fremantle last week.

Last time they met

Last time these two sides met was earlier this season, back in Week 5. That particular day, after a seesawing second half, Brisbane kicked a late goal to hold off Adelaide and emerge two-point winners.

Key stat areas

Interestingly, Adelaide has recorded significantly more inside 50s than Brisbane, but Brisbane has been the far more efficient one once inside 50.

Also, Adelaide has a massive dominance over Brisbane when it comes to hit outs, but is only plus-one over Brisbane in the clearances.

When it comes to contested versus uncontested possessions, there is a bigger gap in the uncontested possession count, and with it benefitting Brisbane that is one area the Lions can exploit. One area they do need to watch though is marks inside 50, which is crucial to the way both teams play but Adelaide has been doing far better than Brisbane in that area this season.

Key match up/s

The key forwards are going to play a huge part for both sides today.

Caitlin Gould, Taylor Smith and Dakota Davidson are such key focal points in attack for their sides, so in turn the likes of Shannon Campbell, Chelsea Biddell and Sarah Allan are going to have huge assignments trying to stop them.
