A GRAND Final rematch between South Adelaide and Norwood will headline the opening round of the 2025 SANFL Women’s season following the first announcement of next year’s fixture. Both the SANFL Women’s and SANFL League Round 1 fixtures dropped in an announcement yesterday, with the full schedules to come in the near future.
The 2025 SANFL Women’s season kicks off on Saturday, March 15, with the Panthers and Redlegs battling it out for glory at Magain Stadium – renamed from Flinders University Stadium – where the former will unfurl their flag.
While the South Adelaide-Norwood clash is on opening day, that clash begins at 6pm local time, with Woodville-West Torrens and Sturt match opening the year earlier that day. The Eagles and Double Blues head to Eastern Parade Reserve where the first bounce is 1:30pm local time.
On the Sunday, the remaining two finalists from last season go head-to-head with Central District playing host to Glenelg at X Convenience Oval. The two sides had a combined five players drafted in the recent AFLW Draft, so could have some fresh faces.
To conclude Round 1, West Adelaide hosts North Adelaide at Hisense Stadium, with that match taking place from 1:30pm, running simultaneously off a later start from the Bulldogs-Bays’ midday starting timeslot.
