Footy coverage ramps back up over off-season

WITH the dust now settled on the 2024 AFL and AFLW Drafts and the year coming to a close in a few hours, Rookie Me Central sets its sights on 2025. There will be no shortage of content over the off-season as we build up to what promises to be a huge year.

Throughout January there will be plenty of pieces focusing on the 2025 draft classes for both boys and girls, as well as features when Preseason Testing events kick off. Western Australia will be a key focus from mid-January, with interviews with players from South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania coming from February.

By the time March rolls around, the Coates Talent League Boys and Girls Preseason Testing events will take place, so expect plenty of news and interviews from the biggest testing events. All the while club preseasons will be in full swing, with some season dates changed, but many remaining the same.

The Northern Territory Football League of course runs over the summer, so we’ll be keeping you up to date with the goings on there in the Men’s Premier and Women’s Premier divisions. In South Australia, the SANFLW kicks off from March 15, before the WAFL Women’s – fresh with ninth side Perth – will begin a fortnight later on March 29.

While yet to be confirmed, expect the Coates Talent League fixtures to drop early in the new year, while Queensland and New South Wales will be burgeoning with talent across the QAFL/W and AFL Sydney and AFL Canberra competitions.
