AN INTERRUPTED bottom-age campaign did not impact Steph Tredwell‘s determination to reach the top level, as she kicks off our 15 SANFL Women’s top-agers to watch in 2025. The talented raw defender sat out the 2024 season after suffering osteitis pubis, though is ready and raring to go having overcome that and has her sights set on a big 2025 campaign.

SUMMARY
It has been a long time coming for Tredwell, who featured for South Australia’s Under 16s squad a couple of years back, and played eight games for the Bloods in her SANFL Women’s debut season. She kicked three goals and averaged 6.5 disposals and 3.5 tackles in that year.
Though ultimately losing the game, Tredwell did have a highlight against South Adelaide that season, kicking back-to-back goals to put her side in the box seat down at the Ponderosa. A raw talent with upside, Tredwell has missed substantial football since that year, but showed in those glimpses what she is capable of at her best.
Tipped to lineup inside 50 for the Bloods once again, Tredwell is an exciting player who can work hard at ground level, while also competing in the air. In her last season she played alongside now Port Adelaide star Lauren Young and will be a greater focal point inside 50.
While predominantly playing closer to goal in 2023, Tredwell is likely to spend time rotating up the field in a high half-forward role going forward. What stands out as a point of difference for Tredwell is her willingness to attack in contested situations and fly for grabs, while also setting up teammates going inside 50 as well.
If Tredwell can get back to her form of 2023 and further develop, she will be a terrific addition inside West Adelaide’s attack, and another valuable option for the Croweaters at the 2025 AFLW Under 18 Championships.
