SUMMARY

Hazelhurst has shown she is more than capable in a couple of sports, having represented her state across both netball and football in the last couple of seasons. A member of the Under 18s squad last year, she got to play at Under 16s level for the Croweaters the year before, and also ran out for South Australia at the Under 17 Championships for netball in 2024.

An important player for Norwood, Hazelhurst has played across a few positions, mainly at both ends of the field, while also able to give a chop out in the ruck. That was largely during her debut SANFLW year of 2023, where she played six games and averaged just under five hitouts per game while playing forward primarily.

In 2024, Hazelhurst worked in defence and was largely utilised one-on-one given her work in that space, as well as her athleticism to run off and provide some dash from the back 50. She did not win a stack of the ball, but when she had it, was able to make plenty happen, as she added defensive pressure both in the air and at ground level.

What you see with the Norwood tall is great upside as she can develop into just about anything given her athleticism and size combination. It would not be a shock to see her land as a bigger midfielder and then rotate to a key post, which is why she has landed at number nine on this list. It will be fascinating to see how she fares in 2025, as she joins the list of talented dual-sports players who juggle between both.
