IT IS a key day in the build-up to the 2025 VFL seasons, with the fixtures for both the men’s and women’s competitions announced today.
However, only Rounds 1 to 10 of the VFL Women’s fixture and Rounds 1 to 13 of the VFL Men’s fixture has been fully released, with only the matchups confirmed for the latter portion of both seasons. Dates, times and venues for those latter rounds will be confirmed later once the corresponding rounds of the AFL Men’s fixture have had their fixtures confirmed.

Some of the key features of the 2025 VFL Women’s fixture are:
- There is a new season window, with Round 1 set to happen on the weekend of April 18 to 20, which is Easter weekend.
- Inaugural State Team to represent the ‘Big V’ in a clash with the SANFLW State Team at Alberton Oval on April 11.
- There will be 28 men’s and women’s double headers across the opening nine rounds of the season.
- The two Grand Final rematches will be in Rounds 5 and 11.
- There will be competition wide byes on the weekend of June 7 and 8, and July 26 and 27.
- The finals will commence on the weekend of August nine and 10, with the Grand Final set to take place on the weekend of August 30 and 31.
Some of the key features of the 2025 VFL Men’s fixture are:
- There will be 30 matches between two VFL standalone clubs, with all VFL standalones to play each other at least once.
- There will be 28 men’s and women’s double-headers across the opening 13 rounds of the season.
- There will be a competition wide bye on the weekend of April 12 for the State Team against the SANFL State Team at Tanunda Recreation Reserve during Gather Round.
- The two Grand Final rematches will take place in Rounds 1 and 20.
- Wildcard Round weekend will be August 23 and 24, and the Grand Final will be on the weekend of September 20 and 21.
