2025 Coates Talent League fixtures released

FEATURING up to 19 rounds and 18 clubs, the 2025 Coates Talent League fixtures for both the boys and girls competitions were released today. Kicking off on the weekend of March 29-30 and April 6-7 for the boys and girls seasons respectively, both will run until the end of August before a three-week finals series.

The 2025 season will feature the 12 full-time Victorian boys and girls programs, as well as Tasmania Devils who will play play 12 (boys) and 13 (girls) games throughout the 19 and 18-round seasons. As in recent years, the Northern Academies in the AFL-aligned Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns, GWS Giants and Sydney Swans Academies, as well as Northern Territory, will each feature in up to four matches between Rounds 4-7 (boys) and 3-10 (girls).

For the boys, Wildcard Round will be played on the weekend of August 30-31 followed by a three-week complete elimination finals series throughout September, culminating in the Coates Talent League Boys Grand Final on September 20-21. The girls finals series will commence on August 30-31 and follow through to the same weekend for the decider.

Looking to Round 1, and the boys have two double-headers and six matches to look forward to across three venues and two days. Kicking off on Saturday, March 29, Bendigo Pioneers and Tasmania Devils lock horns from 10:45am at Highgate Recreation Reserve, before Murray Bushrangers and Gippsland Power follow suit at the same venue the day after from 1pm.

Sunday also sees Sandringham Dragons take on Western Jets at 11:30am, and Oakleigh Chargers face Calder Cannons at RSEA Park from 2pm, while down the road at Trevor Barker Beach Oval, Dandenong Stingrays meet Geelong Falcons at 12:30pm, and Northern Knights clash with Eastern Ranges from 3pm.

A week later the girls season begins with a mix of country and metropolitan venues hosting matches. Typical opener GWV Rebels and Geelong Falcons begin the year with a clash at Mars Stadium from 11am, the same time as Murray Bushrangers and Bendigo Pioneers in Wangaratta.

The three Sunday games sees a double-header at Highgate Recreation Reserve, with hosts Calder Cannons facing Western Jets, before Northern Knights tackle reigning premiers Oakleigh Chargers. The other Sunday games have Sandringham Dragons hosting Eastern Ranges at RSEA Park and Gippsland Power and Dandenong Stingrays down in Morwell.
