ALICIA BLIZARD PROFILE

DOB: 15/11/2007
Height: 174cm
Position: Tall Forward
Club: East Fremantle

West Australian Female Talent Manager Trent Cooper says:

“Ali had a good carnival last year and a good finish for the East Fremantle. Really powerful forward and probably the best thing and the biggest improvement in her game has been her forward pressure where she’s elite at that level at applying that pressure so looking forward to seeing what she does this year.”

SUMMARY

Blizard has had a rough run with injury over the last few years, cracking in for her East Fremantle League debut last season and holding her place in the side for seven games. There, playing as a forward she averaged a goal a game from 10.7 disposals and 2.3 marks, looming as both a deep and high half-forward.

It has been a gradual build up for the naturally gifted player who played 28 games through the Rogers Cup over the past three seasons, but once she gained her spot in the WAFLW side, she never looked back. Her three goals from 15 disposals and six marks on debut against Peel Thunder was a highlight, though she piled on eight goals in her first five games.

Though the finals were another level in pressure again, Blizard hit the scoreboard on grand final day, and then stepped up to her state side where she impressed for the Black Ducks. Averaging eight disposals and kicking five goals across her three games, Blizard loomed as a target inside 50 alongside Olivia Wolmarans, and though Western Australia did not pick up a win, showed promising signs for the future.

Heading into 2025, Blizard has plenty of room to further grow, with her defensive pressure having already come along nicely to the point of where it is a strength. Her aerial pressure and ground level work is great, and once everything comes together, she will take her game to another level. Blizard has the chance to be a key target for the Sharks inside 50 once again.
