PERTH is the newest club in the WAFL Women’s competition, with former AFLW player Jess Sedunary taking on the inaugural head coach role of the Demons having had stacks of experience across no less than four states. While history suggests the inaugural year of any side is tough, the Demons are well place to break the streak of winless sides in 2025.
LAST SEASON: N/A
2025 PREDICTION: 7th-9th
There would not be too many expectations on the Demons with essentially a mix of Rogers Cup and fresh faces from both local and interstate meaning it might take a while for Perth to click. The Demons do have some talented players on their list and perhaps seem more ready than other sides in their first seasons over recent years. In saying that, the Demons are unlikely to immediately push for finals, but could notch up a win or a few here or there.

Addison Opalinski
Midfielder | 175cm | 29/11/2007
“Unfortunately for Addison, she’s been injured. She’s a really, strong powerful athlete and it would have been great for her to work with the other state players during the preseason. She hasn’t missed a session, but she’s just coming back from injury so she’s back running. She’ll probably have a delayed start to the season but we’ll see what she can do once she gets going.”

KEY PLAYERS
Isabella Shannon
Forward/Midfielder | 177cm | 30/06/2001
Bringing in a player with AFLW experience is worth its weight in gold for a new side, so Perth will look to feature plenty of forward thrusts through the talented utility. She uses the ball well, can pinpoint passes inside 50 and then hit the scoreboard if required. Still only 23 years-old, Shannon can be the playmaker that the Demons need in transition.
Holly Britton
Midfielder/Wing | 164cm | 17/02/2006
Coming off a great year with Peel Thunder and the West Australian Under 18s, the initial inside midfielder has spent the majority of the last 12 months as a wing, though can play either inside or outside. She boasts great skills and smarts with a neat sidestep through traffic, and is co-captaining the Demons alongside Shannon in their inaugural season.
Jasmine Single
Midfielder | 169cm | 17/12/2005
A quality recruit from the Sunshine State, Single brings with her a wealth of experience through the Suns Academy and Bond University programs. Single has quick hands and great footy smarts, willing to work contest to contest and can hit targets forward of centre with nice vision and execution. Will be a key recruit for the competition.
