2025 QAFLW Season Preview

A NEW ERA is upon Queensland women’s football with two additional clubs joining the top flight to make an even 10 teams in the QAFL Women’s. Along with the existing eight sides from last season, Moreton Bay and Morningside both join the competition, expanding the league from four matches to five.

SEASON STRUCTURE

The 2025 QAFL Women’s season has 16 rounds which will see the sides face off once, and in the case of seven sides, twice. There will be competition byes on the weekends of April 19, May 24 and July 5, with themed rounds back again.

Anzac Round kicks off on Anzac Day and is Round 3 on the fixture, with Sir Doug Nichols Round on May 17, before a fortnight of Pride Round – enabling all teams to have a home guernsey and an away guernsey – on July 19 and 26.

Finals kick off on Saturday, August 16 with an extended five-team series. The four-week competition will run through until the 2025 QAFL Women’s Grand Final on Sunday, September 7.
