THREE matches are down, just one remains for Round 2 of the WAFL Women’s competition. A red-hot Subiaco takes on a bullish East Perth side to close out the second week of the 2025 season with some talented draft prospects on display.

FORM
Subiaco announced its premiership intentions with an impressive kick-back win against West Perth under lights last week. The Lions take on an East Perth side that was competitive, but just a rung below Swan Districts as the Royals look set to take on another tough challenge.
TEAMS

CHANGES
Both sides have made minimal changes for the match, with Hali Epis back in for Subiaco replacing Chloe Shearing, while East Perth has made a pair of changes as Meg McAullay and Stefany Stack play their first games for the year. Emily Boothman will be a big loss out of the side for the Royals, as will Chloe Sauzier.
AFLW DRAFT TALENT
This Subiaco side is brimming with top talent, headlined by athletic key forward Olivia Wolmarans who had a day out in not only Round 1, but against East Perth in Round 1 last year when kicking half a dozen goals. Sunni-Quay Peters showed great competitiveness in defence, while Layla Quinn-Schofield had some big moments in the forward half. For East Perth, Lucy Greenwood was kept relatively quiet in Round 1 by her standards but will be looking for a big performance here, while Stack will get her chance to impress in the forward 50.
PREDICTION
Subiaco should be too strong as one of the genuine contenders in this year’s WAFL Women’s flag. East Perth has reached a level of competitiveness on a consistent basis so can stick with the Lions, but eventually Subiaco’s experience and class will rise to the top.
