2025 CTLG RMC MEDAL | Race heats up after five rounds

MORE best on ground performances from the likes of Calder Cannons’ Chloe Baker-West and Northern Knights’ Marlo Graham have them providing the early pace in our 2025 Rookie Me Central Medal count for the Coates Talent League Girls competition.

The top-age duo were votes best-on in their respective sides’ wins over Bendigo Pioneers and Murray Bushrangers, while Giants Academy forward Majella Day also picked up her second best on ground from three games to be the new leading Northern Academy vote-getter.
While the Northern Academies do not play enough games to poll votes to win the medal, the likes of Fay can feature prominently for their sides. Swans Academy forward Alex Neyland also earned the five votes for her performance in the win over GWV Rebels.
Baker-West and Northern Knights’ Scarlett Johnson are the only players to poll in all five rounds, though Graham – who missed Round 2 – has polled two best on grounds and two ‘four votes’ to be right at the pointy end of the leaderboard. In a similar position is Oakleigh Chargers bottom-ager Bailee Martin who kicked another four goals on the weekend.
With one round to go until the Victorian trials, plenty of players are looking to put their best foot forward.
Stay tuned, we’ll post the full leaderboard after Round 6.
