YET ANOTHER best on ground despite a loss, Calder Cannons’ Chloe Baker-West‘s incredible top-age season rolls on with the star talent’s 41 touches just edging her ahead of Gippsland Power’s Abby Hobson (21 touches, 12 marks and four goals) in best afield honours in what was the toughest voting decision of the weekend.

Likewise, Geelong Falcons’ Georgia Tyrrell had a day out 41 touches and 12 clearances, earning the full five votes ahead of an unlucky Stella Huxtable (31 disposals, three goals) and Ava Bilyk (29 disposals, seven clearances), both of whom would have attracted the five votes in most other games.
Giants Academy member Isla Wiencke‘s Coates Talent League Girls campaign came to a close in the wet with a best on ground performance against Western Jets thanks to 24 disposals and 11 clearances, while Ellie Hall and Majella Day – who are both listed with Murray Bushrangers this season – polled votes and are chances to continue polling after the Giants have departed.
At Box Hill it was a competitive field with bottom-age duo Emily Rankin and Brylee Anderson both earning votes, while over-ager Emma Juneja and Charlotte Tidemann both polled with the Swans Academy still having one match to go in a fortnight.
Across the rest of the round some of the top vote-getters kept racking up the votes with GWV Rebels’ Maggie Johnstone (23 disposals, two goals), Oakleigh Chargers’ Chloe Bown (36 disposals, 10 clearances) and Rose Bell (23 disposals, 11 rebound 50s) all adding five more votes to their respective tallies.
Meanwhile for the Suns Academy, Gold Coast comes away with full votes to Mikayla Nurse for her full-time game in the midfield, just ahead of Alannah Welsh who kicked three, and Northern’s clear standout, winger Scarlett Johnson.
