Bottom-ager Jai Debono kicked the winning goal – his third from 17 disposals – with under a minute left on the clock to be named best afield. Soren Feast (25 disposals, five marks) was the victors’ leading ball winner, matching the effort of Claremont’s Jackson Cattalini (six inside 50s).

Fresh off a strong showing in the state Under 18 trial, Tigers ruck Benji van Rooyen imposed himself on the contest to register 19 disposals, five tackles and 34 hitouts. Max Hansen-Knarhoi was also among Claremont’s best with 19 touches and four marks as his side fell to fifth place.

Amid West Perth’s bye, East Fremantle launched into second spot with a 38-point win over East Perth. The Sharks responded well to their loss last time out, setting up the victory with five unanswered goals in term two. They maintained the scoreboard pressure with another handful in term three.

Tom Ryan and Benjamin Wood each kicked three goals for East Freo, while Oliver McManus (29 disposals, five inside 50s) and Kaiden Summerell (26 and five) provided frequent delivery. Marcus Cassidy was the Royals’ standout with 26 touches, five inside 50s and a goal.

Ladder leader South Fremantle was again on the winners list after downing Subiaco to the tune of 31 points. It was a tight tussle until the final change at Fremantle Oval, with the Bulldogs surging to victory on the back of five goals to one in term four to remain a game clear in first.

Cian Bushe-Jones snagged five goals in the win, though Jacob Donald (29 disposals, nine inside 50s, three goals) was best afield for the Bulldogs. Star bottom-age midfielder Lucas Robinson (24 disposals, six tackles) was also among South’s best for his work at the contest.

Darcy Montgomery and Jackson Durham each booted two majors in a Subiaco side with yielded just three goalkickers. Rydn Rae-Anthonysz topped the disposal count with 23 and five marks, though it was Lucas Santich (21 disposals, seven tackles) who was named the Lions’ best.

Perth continued its ascent up the Colts ladder after defeating the winless Peel Thunder by 31 points at Mineral Resources Park. Despite narrowly losing the disposal and inside 50 counts, the Demons were too clinical and climbed into fourth spot with their third win in four games after the bye.

In his first appearance for the season, Robert Warrell signalled his intentions with a bag of six goals. Cooper Clark snared four while James Cameron managed two, though leading ball winners Seth Clark (22 disposals, 14 tackles) and Nathan Cameron (21 and nine) were named their side’s best.

Peel staff named 16-year-old tall Riley Wiltschut their best player after he won a game-high 35 hitouts in the ruck. Lachlan Birch and Drew Clarke each racked up 24 disposals and combined for 16 tackles, while Ryan Bizzell nabbed a pair of goals in the Thunder’s seventh-straight loss.
