2025 CTLG | Round 14 Player of the Week: Piper Dixon

WESTERN Jets bottom-ager Piper Dixon produced a breakout performance during her sides’ 18-point victory over Tasmania Devils on the Apple Isle. Best known for her work close to goal, the crafty forward spent more time up the ground racking up a remarkable 35 disposals – 13 more than any other Jets- in a stat-stuffing game.
Dixon finished with 25 kicks and 10 handballs, as well as five marks, four tackles, seven clearances, nine inside 50s and a goal. It marked her best performance at Coates Talent League level by far, previously averaging 8.5 disposals from her four games.
She was a standout in the win, though opponent and double bottom-ager Matilda Lange was phenomenal as well, picking up 29 disposals, 10 clearances, five inside 50s and kicking a last quarter goal that initially put her side in front early in the term.
Across the round there were some massive performances with top-age Falcon Stella Huxtable the closest to Dixon for the nomination after an equalling 35 disposals, as well as league-high 13 clearances in Geelong’s two-point nail-biter over Oakleigh Chargers.
Past Player of the Week nominee Brylee Anderson also had a day out after being rotated out by Metro, finishing with 33 disposals, 12 tackles, 10 clearances and seven inside 50s in a 35-point victory against Northern Knights.
Three players notched up 30-plus touches in the Murray Bushrangers-Bendigo Pioneers’ clash. Past Player of the Week Ellie Hall (37 disposals, three marks, eight tackles, seven clearances and five inside 50s) was huge, as was Sophia Green (31 disposals, three tackles and four clearances) in Murray’s 53-point win. Meanwhile, Issy Boulton (35 touches, two marks, five tackles, three clearances and eight rebound 50s) did her best in defeat.
