FORM

Two sides at opposite ends of the ladder go head-to-head in a Friday night special clash at Sullivan Logistics Stadium. East Perth is still searching for its second win and the Royals look certain to collect another wooden spoon given the four points and considerable percentage gap to eighth placed Perth. Subiaco on the other hand is in a dog fight with Claremont for top spot with just 2.22 per cent separating the sides, so a percentage booster is needed in this one.

TEAMS

CHANGES

Subiaco has welcomed back its Under 18s stars from the national championships, meaning there is a stack of changes for the Lions. Eight players have switched places, as National Academy members Olivia Wolmarans and Olivia Crane and State Academy members Sunni-Quay Peters and Layla Quinn-Schofield all file back in. The experience of Beatrice Devlyn, Aimee Schmidt and Tiah Toth returning makes the Lions outfit one of the strongest fielded all year.

East Perth on the other hand has made at least two changes, but is rolling with an extended bench. The match marks the return of the exciting Lucy Greenwood, while Lillian Ninyett and Makayla Pugliese-Thompson are crucial inclusions as well. They are amongst seven possible fresh faces, with Kahra Sprlyan and Tierrah Miller the two confirmed out of the team.

AFLW DRAFT WATCH

Wolmarans is fresh off a four-goal haul against the Allies, finding her confidence and range in the second half. Crane has been reliable as always off half-back, with Peters able to compete both alongside her and off a wing. Quinn-Schofield is a high impact-per-possession player too who will only add to the strength of the side.

Greenwood showed off her midfield potential against the Allies, and has spent time for the Royals on the inside as well. One with plenty of upside, expect her to use her pace around the ball then get forward to try and hit the scoreboard.

PREDICTION

The match has all the hallmarks of being a very one-sided affair. At opposite ends of their development, Subiaco’s side looks like a premiership team. The Lions need percentage and the Royals are struggling to score of late. A fairly straight forward prediction, with the main question being by how much.
