South Australia dominates All-Australian team

SOUTH Australia boasts a high of seven players in the 2025 AFL Under 18 All-Australian team after its undefeated run to the title. The Croweaters’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) Dyson Sharp headlines the inclusions having been named captain to go with his Larke Medal honours.

Sharp won the series best and fairest award on 18 votes, just ahead of fellow midfielders Oliver Greeves (Vic Metro) and Daniel Annable (Allies), who were named as followers. He features on an all-South Australian centreline, middling wingmen Harley Barker and Matthew LeRay.
West Adelaide tall forward Mitchell Marsh spearheaded the Croweaters’ first title since 2018, booting a competition-high 12 goals from four games. Partner-in-crime Aidan Schubert bagged 10 to join him on the full forward line, along with livewire Vic Metro small Lachy Dovaston.
Behind South Australia as the most heavily represented side is Vic Country, who finished second with an even 2-2 record. Among the Vics’ All-Australians is MVP Willem Duursma. He earned a spot at centre half-back, with Metro’s fellow pick one contender Cooper Duff-Tytler at centre half-forward.
Along with Duursma and Sharp, each state MVP landed a spot in the starting lineup. Greeves was a natural choice for the midfield group, while the Allies’ Lachlan Carmichael slots into the back pocket, and West Australian captain Fred Rodriguez lands at half-forward, despite playing full-time midfield.

As has been a theme of the draft crop, club-tied talent is littered across the 23-player lineup with six selected. No bottom-age players made the cut this time around – a feat which only Zeke Uwland achieved last year and did not get a chance to back up through injury.
