2025 National Draft combine list, dates revealed

THE LIST of invitees for this year’s AFL National Draft Combine has been revealed, with 64 of the nation’s brightest prospects to be put through their paces in October. The details were first reported by The Age journalist Marc McGowan, with Rookie Me set to host the state and national testing events.

Vic Metro leads the way with a whopping 19 representatives set to attend the three-day combine, held between the MCG and State Hockey & Netball Centre in Melbourne. Under 18 champions South Australia will have 14 squad members make the trip to Victoria, with no other region tipping double-digits.
A plethora of club-tied talent is also set to show their wares. Of the 64 nominees put forward by AFL club recruiters, 23 are bound by restricted access rules; 12 via Northern Academies, eight to Next Generation Academies, and three under father-son eligibility. That’s just under 36 per cent of the crop.
>> REVISITED: ‘The most compromised AFL Draft in history’
There has been no concrete consensus as to who will be this year’s number one pick, but the leading contenders include Suns Academy utility Zeke Uwland, Gippsland Power star Willem Duursma, and Calder Cannons ruck Cooper Duff-Tytler. Uwland is the only one of those three tied to a club.
The AFL has also compiled an initial portion of the state combine list, which will be split across Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia. Victoria will host talent from Tasmania, Queensland, Northern Territory, and NSW/ACT in one event on the same day and at the same venue as the National Combine.
Full details on the state combines are yet to be confirmed. Plenty more players are set to be added to the list of nominees shortly, while venues for the South and West Australian events will be announced in due course. They are currently listed below as To Be Confirmed (TBC).
