2025 AFLW Team Preview: GWS Giants

A HIGHER percentage compared to Gold Coast is all that kept the GWS Giants out of the bottom two, with the orange team still waiting on that breakthrough year. With a couple of young guns coming in through the draft and some experienced faces joining them, there is hope that 2025 might be the season GWS moves up the ladder.

ONES TO WATCH
Key Player: Alyce Parker
Breakout Potential: Fleur Davies
New Recruit: Sara Howley
Tough inside midfielder Alyce Parker has the potential to be right up there in terms of league best and fairest votes and will look to return to her prime with some fresh faces around her. One such player is ball magnet Sara Howley who will add much needed speed to the side, while Fleur Davies is one player who with continuity for a full year, can take her game to another level.

PREDICTION
GWS Giants are still building a team that can compete with the very best, and at some point the penny will drop and everything will click. The big question is whether or not it will happen in 2025. More likely than not the Giants will find themselves outside the top eight again, but improvement should see the team rise up the ladder to be more competitive and cause a few upsets.
