ONES TO WATCH

Key Player: Ella Roberts
Breakout Potential: Kayley Kavanagh
New Recruit: Lou Painter

After winning her first Eagles’ best and fairest last season, Ella Roberts is primed to go on with it and become among the top few players in the AFL Women’s competition. Be it forward or midfield she will have an influence, while now she has Lou Painter running around there too who will add plenty of X-factor and excitement for the blue and gold. After missing out on her first season due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, expect former Vic Metro MVP Kayley Kavanagh to make her presence felt.

PREDICTION

West Coast is becoming one of those sides that will be difficult to play with enough stars and balance of developing young kids that soon enough the tide will turn. Whether or not the Eagles can play finals is still a question mark, but at the very least they should be competitive and avoiding the bottom few spots on the ladder.
