Additions round out draft combine list
THE AFL has finalised the list of state draft combine invitees, adding 19 players to the original tally of 32. It means 51 prospects will be put through their paces at fitness testing events held across Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia in October.

Of the late invitees, six have come from outside Under 18 representative squads. Rod Ali, who garnered mid-season draft interest, was among them, along with fellow over-ager Leon Kickett from Swan Districts. Recent VFL debutant Nicholas Driscoll will also front up after his impressive form.
One of the crop’s true bolters is midfielder Archie Dollman. As reported by AFL.com.au journalist Josh Gabelich, he was cut by the Oakleigh Chargers at the start of the year, only to star at APS level with St Kevin’s and earn an invite back into the program.
Greater Western Sydney fans will also keep a keen eye on the combine with a trio of Academy prospects added to the list in over-age tall forward Riley Hamilton, key position utility Jim Houston, and Tallis McMillan. The latter of the three has recently turned out in Murray Bushrangers colours.
Woodville-West Torrens’ Jack Cook was the only addition out of South Australia, having been part of the Croweaters’ undefeated title-winning Under 18 side. He has been plying his trade at senior level for the Eagles across half-back.
Tasmania and Queensland also have single additions in goalsneak Jack Miller and Cooper Collins respectively. Collins is tied to the Gold Coast Suns Academy and has established himself at VFL level, most recently enjoying a switch to defence.
The state events will run in addition to the National Draft Combine, which takes place in Melbourne from October 5-7. A total of 64 players from around the country will converge for the three-day even, which includes club interviews, medical screenings, and the usual physical testing run by Rookie Me.
