2025 RM Central Talent League Girls Team of the Year squad released

FOLLOWING the release of our Coates Talent League Boys Team of the Year, the 2025 Rookie Me Central Coates Talent League Girls Team of the Year squad has been released today. Featuring 48 players from across the 13 regions, the final 24-strong side will be named later in the week.
Among those nominated are Victorian MVPs Chloe Bown and Georgia Tyrrell, as well as Allies’ MVP Priya Bowering. Uniquely, there are two sets of siblings in the 48-player squad with Bown’s younger sister Scarlett, as well as the Brothwell twins – Mizuki and Nalu – named. The younger Bown was one of three double bottom-agers to be named in the squad alongside Matilda Lange and Maya Duane.
The minimum qualification to make the Team of the Year is 50 per cent (or seven games), which meant the likes of Marlo Graham and Ava Bilyk (who were on the extended list) unfortunately just missed the cut. Of those who made it, Eastern Ranges jet Tayla McMillan (eight games) had the least, with goalkicking machine Majella Day (eight) the only other one with less than nine games for the year.
From a team representative standpoint, Dandenong Stingrays boasted the most players with six in the squad, one more than fellow preliminary finalists, Eastern Ranges, Oakleigh Chargers and Murray Bushrangers. Gippsland Power, Sandringham Dragons and Tasmania Devils all had four apiece, while Bendigo Pioneers, GWV Rebels and Northern Knights had three. Calder Cannons, Geelong Falcons and Western Jets round out the full list with a pair of representatives.
The squad was decided by total Team of the Week nominations, with four or more nominations gaining automatic qualification, and no less than three nominations in the extended squad. From there, the final 24 will be chosen on Thursday.
