LAST WEEK we released our September AFLW Draft Power Rankings featuring 30 names following the conclusion of their junior seasons. Given the even nature of the draft after the top end, we will name our next 30 players over a two-piece series starting with the talls. Below are 14 talls who would be in our ‘Next 30’ names.
>> AFLW DRAFT POWER RANKINGS: September 2025
Ava Bibby (Bendigo Pioneers/Vic Country)
Key Utility | 186cm | 09/05/2007
Able to play across all three lines, Bibby possesses some eye-catching traits for a tall. She can clunk a contested mark and has a dead-eye kick on goal when forward, while being mobile to get involved in transition. In her bottom-age season Bibby had a huge finish including in the Under 17 Futures match, and while having some injury interruptions in 2025, increased her versatility across all lines.
Alicia Blizard (East Fremantle/Western Australia)
Tall Forward | 174cm | 15/11/2007
Blizard is one of those players who has the size of a tall, but her best traits are often more associated with smalls. At 174cm, Blizard is quick at ground level and applies fantastic defensive pressure, while knowing where the goals are. Her upside is massive, and while her marking is the main knock, she does a lot right that impresses as she has shown through the WAFLW at times.
Nalu Brothwell (Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country)
Tall Forward | 174cm | 22/10/2007
The same height as Blizard, Brothwell was one of the first couple of names just outside our top 30. She competes well in the air like sister Mizuki, and is one of those players who is better than what a stats sheet might suggest. While Brothwell kicks her fair share of goals, it is her ability to set up her teammates to score that makes her that much more damaging. Another one with big upside.

Monique Corrigan (Aspley/Lions Academy/Queensland)
Ruck | 187cm | 06/04/2007
The Lions Academy’s top draft prospect this year, Corrigan had some interruptions to overcome to start the year, and the travel factor for the 187cm ruck from Hervey Bay is always a challenge. She gained some great QAFLW experience for Aspley, and with her size and athleticism, ticks a lot of boxes that clubs love, and would add to the ruck depth at the Lions.
Asher Fearn-Wannan (Eastern Ranges/Vic Metro)
Wing/Utility | 177cm | 14/12/2007
Fearn-Wannan is one of the most versatile players in the AFLW Draft crop. While the Eastern Ranges and Vic Metro tall largely played off a wing, she pinch-hit in the ruck, can play off half-back or half-forward as well, boasting a fantastic speed-endurance mix. A late year born player, Fearn-Wannan only turns 18 a day before the draft which could be a great present.
Alira Fotu (South Fremantle/Western Australia)
Tall Forward | 178cm | 17/09/2007
The main question mark around Fotu is regarding the juggling of her basketball commitments – where she has signed with Perth Lynx in the WNBL – and her football aspirations. Star footballer Monique Conti has coped by splitting the seasons evenly, but this is more of a Georgie Cleaver – West Coast Fever in the SSN – case where likely one of the local teams pick her up for value. Athletic with upside though still developing fundamental aspects.
Charli Hazelhurst (Norwood/South Australia)
Tall Utility | 176cm | 02/07/2007
Hazelhurst is perhaps the only more versatile player than Fearn-Wannan having played quite literally in every single position. From tall defender to forward, wing, on-ball and ruck, Hazelhurst is the definition of a unicorn. Not a massive ball-winner, Hazelhurst does her best work in defending one-on-one and then rebounding from there, able to play on talls and smalls and use her speed to advantage.
Abby Hobson (Gippsland Power/Vic Country)
Tall Forward | 174cm | 11/09/2007
With vice-like hands, Hobson is at the top of the tree in terms of contested markers, and given the quality in that area for this draft, it is quite an achievement. Hobson became a really efficient player early in games for Gippsland Power, and while her marking is her major strength, she has a powerful kick and uses it well up the field too. Might not have the athleticism of some others, but those others don’t have her hands.

Eloise Mackereth (Glenelg/South Australia)
Tall Forward | 173cm | 27/07/2007
Is there a more damaging athletic tall forward when all the stars align within a game? On pure talent and offensive hurt factor, Mackereth is undoubtedly one of the best in the draft crop. It is the defensive side of her game that needs work, but if that happens, then watch out. She is quick on the lead, great in the air and most importantly finishes her work efficiently. With the right fit she has the hallmarks to be a star.
Alex McBride-Loane (Western Jets/Vic Metro)
Tall Defender | 174cm | 03/04/2007
Has been thereabouts in terms of this year’s draft crop and represented the All-Stars against the National Academy. Her leap and intercept marking is what catches the eye, and she has a powerful kick as well coming out of defence. McBride-Loane plays an aggressive style, and has a switch-first mentality when one side of the ground is clogged up, not afraid to change lanes to get offensive ball movement.
Zara Neuwirth (Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro)
Key Defender | 183cm | 06/02/2007
Neuwirth has developed her game significantly this year to add more of an offensive element. Given her size at 183cm and her athletic traits – her leap and speed – she is one of those players that would not surprise for a club to go high. In the past she has not been a prominent ball-winner, but at the backend of the Coates Talent League Girls season she was one of Oakleigh’s more productive disposal-getters.

Grace Parsons (North Shore/Swans Academy/NSW-ACT)
Key Forward/Ruck | 180cm | 10/12/2007
Parsons really put her name up in lights at the start of the year when piling on the goals for Sydney Swans Academy, and as the year went on, had some impressive performances for North Shore in the AFL Sydney Women’s Premier Division. Parsons has a nice leap and is mobile at ground level, while not needing a lot of the ball to do a lot of damage. One with upside the Swans will be watching closely.
Jovie Skewes-Clinton (GWV Rebels/Vic Country)
Tall Utility | 176cm | 15/11/2007
A true switch-player, Skewes-Clinton has impact up both ends of the field. Great in the air, competitive at ground level, the GWV Rebels talent mostly played defence last year, but has spent more time forward in 2025. She mixed between the two and would kick bags in a quarter early in the year, then played permanent forward for Vic Country. Doesn’t mind a bit of banter on the field as well.
Ella Stoddart (Gippsland Power/Vic Country)
Tall Defender | 174cm | 30/01/2007
One of only two National Academy members, Stoddart won the Vic Country Under 16s MVP, and is still thereabouts in an even crop from that region. She has a powerful left boot, has shown she can move into the middle or up forward, though her power and intercepting capability is what holds her game in good stead. She racks the ball up out of defence, and really stepped it up from mid-year.
