PORT Adelaide enjoyed a sightseeing trip to Melbourne during the AFL Draft and became the first club to not draft a single player during the National Draft. Instead, the Power opted to elevate rookies Tom Cochrane, Josh Lai, Harrison Ramm and Logan Evans before taking a new player with the Rookie Draft straight out of their SANFL program.

DRAFT HAUL
NATIONAL DRAFT:
Nil.
ROOKIE DRAFT:
Pick 4. Jack Watkins (Port Adelaide SANFL)
Watkins is a player who the Power would have kept a close eye on playing through their SANFL affiliate. Running out for the Magpies each week the 176cm midfielder averaged 27.0 disposals, 4.6 marks, 4.5 tackles, 4.2 clearances and 4.1 inside 50s across 18 games at League level.
The former two-time North Melbourne VFL best and fairest winner is regarded as a strong midfielder who matches it with taller opponents, while being clean and effective around the coalface. Watkins has a nice burst to break from congestion to the outside and can equally get involved around the ground too.
GRADE: N/A
Hard to offer a grading given Port Adelaide essentially abstained from the draft. The Power have top pick contender Dougie Cochrane to look forward to next year, and have settled with their list under new coach Josh Carr for 2026.
