A clever and clean ball-user out of Sturt, Summer Ross spent the season working in tandem with opposite Double Blues winger Lily Smart, before holding her place in the role at the national carnival. A frustrating injury setback in South Australia's win over Western Australia meant her SANFLW season ended early, but the South Australian still showed plenty of promise throughout 2025.

Like Smart, Ross has a nice balance of speed and endurance which she uses to work over opponents and run all day on the outside. Her skills are generally clean, particularly in terms of her kicking going forward, and she makes good decisions with ball in hand. Ross' strength is a key focus for the top-ager, with the Sturt teenager's one-on-one ability needing work due to her size both in the air and at ground level.

Once she has the ball in her hands, she generally makes something happen, and while her production rate could life, her ability to get forward and impact the scoreboard - whether directly or indirectly - is also very good. Overall, Ross has some nice traits and is another player outside of the Draft Combine invites who has potential for the future.
