Somewhat of an underrated prospect who is renowned for playing his role each week, Jacob Marron established himself in draft conversations this year. The Western Jets defender forced his way into the Vic Metro squad and ended up running out a full national carnival, while also turning out at APS level for Wesley College and managing seven Coates Talent League appearances.

Much of Marron's game revolves around the defensive aspect. He is capable of locking down dangerous tall forwards by holding his own aerially to either split one-on-one contests or take intercept marks. Marron is just as assured with his ball use, distributing it with great composure and efficiency to consistently provide a cool head inside defensive 50.

There is some upside to Marron in that regard, along with his mobility. He can still seek improvement with his production levels and offensive output, or perhaps further explore his ability to swing forward. Building a strong running base will aid that development, although there aren't too many glaring holes to pick out. He's as solid as they come as a late or long-term option.
