Recent form
Port Adelaide come into tonight’s match on a rare two-match winning streak, and will be hoping to make it three in a row. Collingwood on the other hand came crashing back down to earth a bit last week after its first win of 2024 a week prior, but the Pies will be hoping to make a swift return to the winners list tonight.
Last time they met
As previously mentioned, these two sides have never clashed before in the AFL Women’s, so some history will be made tonight no matter what the result is at the final siren.
Key stat areas
Both sides drastically prefer to kick the ball more than they handball it. They have also been significantly stronger at the contested possession game than the uncontested possession game this season.
Interestingly, Collingwood has a slight advantage in the hitouts, but the sides are dead even when it comes to clearances. However, Port Adelaide is the better stoppage clearance side, while Collingwood has been doing better than the Power at centre clearances.
Key match up/s
Port Adelaide gets a massive boost with the return of Kirsty Lamb to the side after missing the last two matches, and will be looking to lead Port’s young midfield up against a tough pair in Brittany Bonnici and milestone skipper Brianna Davey.
Collingwood gets its own injury related boost tonight, with the return of Grace Campbell to the side to provide the forwardline with some added height. However, it will be interesting to see whether someone like Teagan Germech or someone more like Ebony O’Dea is ultimately her direct opponent.
