SANFLW 15 to Watch in 2025: #5 Imogen Trengove

SMOOTH-moving utility Imogen Trengove kicks off our top five countdown of SANFL Women’s top-agers to watch this season, with the Woodville-West Eagles talent having impressed over the last 12 months. Able to play on all three lines, Trengove has the athletic capabilities to impress, but also plenty of footballing weapons too.

Height: 165cm
Position: Utility
Club: Woodville-West Torrens

SUMMARY

Trengove had a breakout season last year after being picked up by the Eagles seniors following a standout junior state carnival for the club. She spent time between the SANFL Women’s and school football for Seymour College, while also gaining the opportunity to don the tri-colours for her state at the AFLW Under 18 Championships as a bottom-ager.

The fact Trengove can play in just about any position is a huge tick, with the Eagles top-ager having played inside, outside, up forward or down back, and while enjoying anything that helps attack, midfield is the way she has leaned of late. More likely to rotate between on-ball and the wing this season, Trengove has the potential to take on more responsibility through the middle for both Woodville-West Torrens and South Australia.

Her athleticism is a clear strength, with her speed – clocking a 3.22-second 20m sprint – underpinning her game. While she can explode away and evade opponents – as evidenced by an 8.33-second agility test to top the State Academy athletes – she also has a high running capacity, finishing Top 10 at the same Preseason Testing event this month in the yo-yo test.

On-field, Trengove catches the eye with her transitional running, and while her final execution can be tidied up, her attack on the contest, and ability to cover ground with ease is a highlight. She has plenty of upside for the future, and with a big preseason, the young Eagle will gain plenty of opportunities to shine on the biggest stages.
