Darebin Falcons star and ex-Blue Lulu Beatty produced a huge performance in the win over her former side, notching up 23 disposals, four inside 50s and booting two goals in a reminder of what she is capable of through the midfield. A couple of Northern Knights stepped up to VFLW level in the game with Kira Lemire and Mary Robinson both recording nine disposals and three marks in the Blues’ loss.
Hawks duo Isla Baldwin (19 disposals, 17 tackles, five clearances and three rebound 50s) and Stasia Stevenson (18 disposals, 10 tackles, four clearances and two inside 50s) were terrific once again for Box Hill, while Dandenong Stingrays’ Tahlia Sanger continued her development at the level with 12 touches, 11 tackles and three clearances. Gippsland Power’s Lilly Leighton (nine disposals, six tackles and three inside 50s) and ex-Oakleigh defender Charlotte Brewer (seven disposals) also donned the black and white.
Ex-Bomber and Sun Alana Barba certainly sent a message to the rest of the competition that she could remain a threat at the next level, destroying the Bulldogs with a 34-disposal, seven-tackle, 12-clearance, six-inside 50 game. Meanwhile ex-Cat Abbey McDonald starred for the Dons with 24 touches, four marks, five tackles and six clearances in a win over the Demons. Ella Morris (15 disposals, six marks, three tackles, four inside 50s and three goals) starred for Casey.
A host of recent Coates Talent League graduates stood tall despite a heavy Cats loss to Port Melbourne.
