2025 CTLG | Round 10 Player of the Week: Ellie Hall

BECOMING the third player this season to register 41 disposals in a match, Murray Bushrangers’ over-ager Ellie Hall is our Round 10 Coates Talent League Girls Player of the Week. Producing a massive effort in the Bushies’ 46-point triumph over Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels, Hall did just above everything across the ground thanks to her versatility and elite endurance base.

Hall finished with 41 disposals – 19 kicks and 22 handballs – six marks, 11 tackles, five clearances, four inside 50s, two rebound 50s and booted 2.2 for the match, with her majors being the final goal of the first and fourth quarters. The former Giants Under 16s MVP has not had the smoothest transition through the pathways, doing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) which put a line through her bottom-age season, then performed strongly throughout her top-age campaign including with the Allies.

Though ultimately not enough to earn a spot on an AFL Women’s list, Hall showed she still has the talent and ability to be given a shot, and it showed throughout her performance. She was one of six Bushrangers to notch up 20-plus disposals in an impressive performance across the board, while GWV Rebels utility Jovie Skewes-Clinton (27 disposals, seven marks, six tackles, two clearances, three inside 50s, seven rebound 50s and a goal) was the other prominent player in the game.

In Oakleigh’s come-from-behind victory against Dandenong Stingrays, top-age star Chloe Bown was a clear standout with 28 disposals, five marks, six clearances and 11 inside 50s on a chilly night in Frankston, while bottom-age goalkicking machine Bailee Martin booted five goals from 16 disposals and five marks, four of which came in the second half.

Up in the Top End, Northern Territory earned a win in front of home fans against Calder Cannons with Peggy Rock (31 disposals, two marks, three tackles, four clearances and five inside 50s) having a day out. Out at Morwell, it was improving bottom-age Jet Tayla Olivieri who had another big outing, picking up 29 disposals, laying six tackles and finishing with 11 clearances, five inside 50s and five rebound 50s. Charlie O’Connor Moreira (27 disposals, five marks, seven tackles, three clearances and nine inside 50s) was also strong despite the Power winning with Gippsland having a true even team performance.

In Sandringham Dragons’ win over Northern Knights, double bottom-ager Maya Duane booted 3.3 from 21 disposals – all kicks – eight marks, five tackles, six clearances and five inside 50s to be the standout player in the 26-point victory. For the Knights, Scarlett Johnson was outstanding, amassing 24 disposals, 10 marks, three tackles, four clearances, nine rebound 50s and a goal.

Finally, in Eastern Ranges’ hard-fought win over the Geelong Falcons, past Player of the Week Brylee Anderson finished with 27 disposals, six marks, five tackles, three clearances, three rebound 50s and a goal. Geelong Falcons’ Stella Huxtable had a massive 32 disposals, two marks, 13 tackles, six clearances, four inside 50s and a goal in defeat.
