FORM

Swan Districts regained important breathing space in third spot the last three weeks since going down to Claremont, first knocking off South Fremantle before destroying both East Perth and Peel Thunder. Now the Swans travel to Mineral Resources Park to take on a Perth side just two games away from finishing its inaugural season. The Demons have already exceeded expectations but will be looking to remain competitive here.

TEAMS

CHANGES

Swan Districts regains star midfielder Carys D’Addario for the big clash after her MVP-winning carnival, with fellow State Academy member Ava Stewart also coming back in. Megan Carron is the other inclusion, with Demi Liddle among three outs for the black and whites. A quartet of Sandgropers come back from the West Australian state side in Mia Carlshausen, Mel Grage, Addison Opalinski and Sienna Timmermans, while Gemma Dix is among four outs.

AFLW DRAFT WATCH

D’Addario’s draft stocks continue to rise with each game she plays, while Stewart and Opalinski are the other top-age names to keep in mind. Carlshausen and Grage both had moments during the national carnival, with Timmermans also reliable off half-back. Interestingly, the explosive Sienna Gerardi is not far away from a return from injury, named as one of four emergencies for Swan Districts.

PREDICTION

Swan Districts should be too strong for the young Perth side, and have more on the line given their hope to get a home third spot final. However the Demons never give opposition teams too much leeway, so they should be competitive for the most part.
