2025 AFLW Draft Next 30: Smalls-Mediums

LAST WEEK we released our September AFLW Draft Power Rankings featuring 30 names following the conclusion of their junior seasons. Given the even nature of the draft after the top end, we have named our next 30 players over a two-piece series, finishing in this article with the remainder of players. Below are 16 non-talls who would be in our ‘Next 30’ names.
>> AFLW DRAFT POWER RANKINGS: September 2025
>> NEXT 30: Talls
Melissa Anderson (South Adelaide/South Australia)
Forward/Midfielder | 173cm | 17/08/2005
The sole mature-ager from the AFLW Draft Combine invitee list, Anderson has long been a naturally gifted forward for South Adelaide in the SANFLW. Towards the backend of the season, Anderson showed her wares as a wing and midfielder, with her explosiveness and natural footy smarts coming to the fore. It was no surprise she earned a Draft Combine invite off the back of consistent football all year.
Mia Anderson (Tasmania Devils/Tasmania)
Midfielder | 171cm | 14/02/2007
The natural inside ball-winner really added to her versatility through the middle in 2025, impacting greatly on the outside and even providing a number of long-range highlight goals. Anderson has that spark about her which goes beyond the contest. She represented the Allies and held her own there, and really emerged as that clear third Tasmanian draft prospect behind Priya Bowering and Mischa Barwin.

Matilda Argus (Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country)
Midfielder/Defender | 166cm | 06/01/2007
Really coming into her own this season, Argus showed some nice versatility off half-back and through the middle with her dangerous left-foot and ability to run and gun down the ground a couple of her trademarks. Athletically she stands out, and Argus would be one of the State Draft Combine invitees ahead of the pack, standing up during the Stingrays’ finals series as well.
Lily Baxter (South Adelaide/South Australia)
Wing/Forward | 173cm | 04/01/2007
The National Academy member started her junior career as a forward, but moved to a wing last season and has held that position for the most part in 2025. She covers the ground well, has a lovely technical kick, and can still hit the scoreboard. Plenty of upside and a good size, Baxter already has a couple of SANFLW premierships under her belt so competes well against senior bodies.
Charlotte Gilmore (Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country)
Wing | 172cm | 21/12/2007
One AFLW Draft bolter this year has been Gilmore, who after a slight interruption early in the season, finished off like a house on fire. Born just 10 days away from being a bottom-ager, the Stingrays’ talent made the wing her own, with a great speed-endurance mix, and an ability to cover the ground at both ends. Looked more than comfortable in the same role for the ‘Big V’.
Olivia Gorman (Northern Knights/Vic Metro)
Midfielder | 168cm | 25/10/2007
A hardened inside midfielder with neat and clean skills, Gorman was a ray of consistency for Northern Knights this season. Even coming into the Vic Metro midfield alongside some highly accoladed players, Gorman showed she could mix it with the best, and was one of the more prominent pure inside ball-winners. She can hit the scoreboard, but does her best work extracting it from the coalface and getting it forward.

Lucy Greenwood (East Perth/Western Australia)
Forward/Midfielder | 163cm | 23/03/2007
A naturally gifted player who was another with injury interruptions just prior to the national championships, Greenwood has a sidestep like few others. She knows where the goals are, is clean as a whistle at ground level, and has serious X-factor in any role she plays. A genuine natural footballer with athletic traits to match and should be among the top State Draft Combine invitees.
Stella Huxtable (Geelong Falcons/Vic Country)
Midfielder/Forward | 172cm | 22/12/2007
A powerful midfielder/forward with great aerial ability and a booming left boot, Huxtable has been thereabouts in terms of her draft class. She can win the ball on the inside, go forward and provide a marking target inside 50, and though not always making the most of her set shots, provides that presence to attempt plenty of chances. Has upside at her height and only nine days inside her age group too.
Rhianna Ingram (Southport/Suns Academy/Queensland)
Defender | 167cm | 20/10/2007
As consistent as they come, Ingram has been a rock solid rebounding and intercepting defender for the Suns Academy and Queensland in 2025. She has neat foot skills, all-round athleticism and just plays the percentages right. With Ingram’s ability to surge the ball forward, the Southport talent has impressed across all levels, and has a higher floor than most prospects this season.
Ella Jeffrey (Bendigo Pioneers/Vic Country)
Midfielder/Defender | 167cm | 09/08/2007
Has done her draft chances no harm this season rotating between midfield and defence. She is ultra-competitive and has a nice kick that can begin transitional forward plays out of the back half. Jeffrey matches it with most around the coalface too, and is a balance of inside and outside ball-winning with her aerial and ground level play too.
Maya Louvel-Finn (East Fremantle/Western Australia)
Defender | 169cm | 20/03/2007
Another one on this list unlucky not to get a National Draft Combine invite, Louvel-Finn has been a mirror of consistency all season. The East Fremantle defender rarely gets beaten one-on-one, and has elite athleticism to go with her strength. A booming right boot and natural footy smarts, the top-ager has a well-rounded draft profile and deservedly earned All-Australian honours for her terrific national carnival.
Renee Morgan (South Fremantle/Western Australia)
Midfielder | 169cm | 04/05/2007
A clean and neat onballer who has spent time on different flanks looking to open up the possibilities, Morgan thrives on the contested ball and is as competitive as anyone else going around. After an injury-interrupted national carnival last year, Morgan got her chance in her top-age season, and was solid throughout as well as in the WAFLW. Speed is the knock on her game, but otherwise has a suite of serious weapons including her dualsidedness.

Bronte Parker (Southport/Suns Academy/Queensland)
Midfielder | 171cm | 19/01/2007
Had it not been for an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear back earlier in the season, then Parker likely would have ended up well inside the top 30. Her talent is obvious, with her ability to win the contested ball and break free in transition and also work to the outside to find it too. She is a good size for a midfielder, and with a full off-season has the potential to be the value pick of the draft.
Tahlia Sanger (Dandenong Stingrays/Collingwood VFLW/Vic Country)
Midfielder | 167cm | 18/08/2006
A season simply too good not to include, Sanger won the VFLW Rising Star. She started the year with the Stingrays, then got her chance at Collingwood VFLW and never looked back. After injury interruptions in recent years, Sanger gained the continuity she needed, and not only impressed, but became one of the most consistent midfielders in the VFLW. Surely gets a look-in after her performances week-in, week-out.
Chloe Thorn (Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro)
General Utility | 167cm | 07/09/2007
Oakleigh Chargers’ skipper began 2025 in defence, then moved between on-ball and attack where she seemed to make an impact wherever she went. Thorn has a powerful, short, sharp kick and covers the ground exceptionally well. With great versatility and competitiveness, Thorn is one who could become a general wherever she plays, always putting her body on the line when required.

Georgia Tyrrell (Geelong Falcons/Vic Country)
Midfielder | 168cm | 04/08/2007
Vic Country’s MVP could not have done much more at the national championships, and her season as a whole is as consistent as anyone’s. Like a few, speed will be the main question mark for Tyrrell, but anyone needing a genuine inside midfielder who can still use the ball effectively and even play off half-back, could easily slot Tyrrell into the lineup. A tackling machine as well.
