TOP 10s | 2025 National AFLW Draft Combine
THE AFL has today revealed the top 10 results from testing conducted at this year’s AFLW National Draft Combine. Held at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Parkville, participants completed the standing and running vertical jump, 20m sprint, and agility test. The 2km time trial was completed earlier in the week at the AIA Centre.

Gold Coast Suns Academy monopolised the top two spots in the 2km time trial with National Academy member Alannah Welsh pipping her explosive Queensland teammate Mikayla Nurse, with the former clocking seven minutes and seven seconds, 11 seconds clear of Nurse. Claremont gut-running machine Juliet Kelly rounded out the podium with a time of 7:21.
Nurse also clocked the fastest 20m sprint time of the local talent on show, with a time of 3.207 seconds, pipping South Australian Lucy Waye (3.209), while Eastern Ranges’ athlete Asher Fearn-Wannan raced home in a time of 3.227 seconds. However the only two Irish hopes at the Draft Combine cleared those from Down Under with Aoife Horisk (3.148 seconds) and Mary-Kate Lynch (3.169 seconds) comfortably finishing top two.
Unsurprisingly, Fearn-Wannan tested exceptionally well across the board, recording a Combine-high AFL Agility Test score of 8.3 seconds, while finishing equal third in the standing vertical jump (55cm) and equal first in the running vertical jump (73cm). Swans key position utility Alex Neyland similarly blitzed the combine by being the other winner of the running vertical jump, and finishing second in both the agility and standing vertical jump.
Tasmanian first round talent Priya Bowering won the standing vertical jump after a leap of 59cm, with Waye, Northern Knights’ Scarlett Johnson and ruck pair Josephine Bamford and Madeleine Quinn also testing exceptionally well across the board.
