In what was her first full season at VFL Women's level after 12 games across her last two seasons, Tahlia Meier produced her best year yet. Racking up the most Lambert-Pearce Medal and Coaches MVP votes from her side, Meier played every game and was a consistent performer across the competition. Stepping up to a midfield role, Meier averaged 18.3 disposals and 3.6 clearances, proving that despite her size she could fill a place there.

Having come through the GWV Rebels program as a small forward then midfielder, Meier found herself at the coalface for the Dogs, but also working hard int defence to win more rebound 50s than any other midfielder in her side (2.5). The 153cm talent is clever at drawing free kicks thanks to her low centre of gravity and always looks to take off and run and fun down the field. At times she can rush and work herself into trouble which is where decision making at times could be improved, but her overall work can prove advantageous for her side.

Meier's clean hands at ground level and ability to be a one-take player then sidestep and opponent can open up the play, and it certainly catches the eye. Given her size, question marks will always be whether she can play a similar role at AFLW level - more likely as a small forward - though she continues to put up strong numbers at state league level.
