Jasmyn Davidson is a versatile tall who has played both as a forward and primarily as a ruck, where she came through the Under 18s in that role. Davidson plays for Bond University and provides great second efforts following the ruck stoppages, able to lay plenty of tackles in close and lock the ball up. In 2023, Davidson shared that rotating ruck-forward role with talented bottom-ager Havana Harris, while Lily Tarlinton was also at the club.

What stands out about Davidson's games are her skills for a tall, which she has always been naturally skilled, as well as her ruck craft in the air, and defensive pressure at ground level. She finds plenty of the ball and acts as a fourth midfielder, and realistically on consistency alone should have been moved up to an AFLW list. The main question mark on Davidson is her size, which is undersized for an AFLW ruck, which means she would likely play forward.

In 2023, her aerial ability - marking in particular - improved, averaging around 2.1 marks per game, including 0.7 contested marks per match. It can still improve further, but it showed great development. In terms of most other facets of the game, Davidson has it down pat, with consistency year-on-year, as well as a high production rate for a ruck-forward, averaging 16.5 disposals, 20.5 hitouts and 3.1 tackles.

If a club needs a readymade player who can slot up forward and roll into the ruck, then Davidson is a great option. There might be better marking targets or taller talents, but the pressure she brings at ground level, along with her natural skills adds a point of difference to the Bond University tall.
