PROFILE:

Laela Ebert is the type of player teammates love getting the ball in the hands of consistently. She uses it well and can hit targets on all angles and at any distances. Her composure, vision and decision making all complement her skill by foot, and in turn enables her to turn defence into offence quickly, working her way from half-back down the ground.

In 2023, Ebert played as a defender and while not a high production player - averaging 10.9 disposals at SANFLW level and 6.7 disposals at AFLW Under 18 Championships - developed into a more permanent midfielder this year at both levels. While her main knock is getting into more ball-winning positions consistently, Ebert is one of the most damaging ball users in the draft crop.

Overcoming an ACL tear in her double bottom-age season, Ebert has been building up her explosiveness again. More of a smooth-mover with some handy speed through the contest, the North Adelaide prospect can execute regardless of pressure and is a reliable extractor as well as facilitator going forward.
